Staying at home...AGAIN!

Well being a teacher, we are out for two whole weeks! I stated during the Thanksgiving week that I was going CRAZY! However, today was not so bad! The kids kept themselves busy with the new toys.
Okay so it IS only Monday...my sanity just might be gone by Friday!!!

We also just took the guest bedroom away and gave Blaine that room and gave Tristyn the play room. (Our kids sleep with us so there was no need for either of them to have a bed so we never got them one once they moved out of the crib! Don't judge just yet, we are doing this to get out of this HORRIBLE habit!) On Saturday night, Scott and I split up the toys and put Blaine's in his room and Tristyn's in hers. We have a bed for Blaine but now we are looking for Tristyn one and now begins the process of getting their rooms decorated! I know this should have been done as soon as we moved in but we have been married 4 1/2 years and have moved 6 times! Therefore, my excitement over having decorated rooms for them went away after the 4th move!! We have lived here for a year and so I think it is time!

I can definitely tell that Tristyn takes after Scott's side of the family. She keeps her room clean and is SO proud of it! Blaine however plays the "baby" role that I know too well and mopes around until I go in there and do most of it myself. He just keeps telling me that he can't do it and he needs help!

Tristyn's room...looks like we just moved in! How embarrasing!

Blaine's room...oops Tristyn is caught changing clothes AGAIN!

Can you tell the bed hasn't been used yet?

You Remember 50% of 2008

Okay, you were somewhat paying attention during 2008.

But you're not going to impress anyone with your knowledge of what went down.

You know the basics about what went down, but little else...

Let's just say you won't be writing the history book for 2008.

Okay so I am not as good at this as I hoped to be! So a lot to say because a month has passed...a busy month at that! I turned 29 a few weeks ago and was kinda depressed about it. At this point I feel like it is my last birthday EVER!!!

Then comes the busy Christmas shopping! The kids were SO excited about Christmas this year! I was very happy because we actually recorded C-mas morning HOWEVER we didn't get ANY pictures! Go figure! (My mother-in-law was there and got PLENTY though!!) When we woke up Blaine to see what Santa brought him, he just kept asking where he was! After we went through all of the toys, we packed up and headed to my parents house!

Then yesterday, Sunday, was Tristyn's 4th birthday! I cannot believe she is 4 years old! I keep waiting for the cute little quirks to wear off as she gets older but they seem to get funnier and funnier! She uses her hands to talk and tries to look so grown up! She also is VERY opinionated. She only likes pants that are "tight" at the bottom....this is SO hard for me bc I want her to wear cute stuff! However, she did get some boots for C-mas that actually look cute with all of her cute cotton "tight" pants! You may think she is spoiled and that may be the case BUT you don't understand HOW much arguing, crying, and frustration goes on at our house EVERY TIME we go somewhere. I try to have a rule that she gets to wear whatever (as long as it is weather appropriate and somewhat matches) to the babysitters everyday. HOWEVER, when we go in public, mommy gets to choose....Now saying this, I mean within reason! There are certain shirts or pants that SHE refuses to wear! I even take her shopping with me most of the time and let her decide if she likes it or not. I do this because my mom and I have spent WAY too much money buying clothes that really went to waste. I blame it ALL on my husband being stubborn because I was an ANGEL as a child!!! hehe

The kids with Santa
We were trying to get C-mas pics but Tristyn was NOT happy with the dress!

It is amazing how a mood can change once you get her in the clothes that she wants!

Blaine loved it even though he was sick!

This was the best she would give us...
The dress was hurting her!

Black Friday

For the past few years, I have participated in the craziness of Black Friday. This year, I searched through the adds, wrote everything down that I needed to get before 1p.m. and went to bed intending on waking up at 4a.m. However, when my alarm went off, I heard rain outside and discovered that it was pouring down. I told my mom that I refused to stand outside in the rain and so we waited until 10:30 to venture out. That being said, I got some shopping done but I only got 3 dvds on sale! I feel so behind because I usually get the bulk of my shopping done on that day but this year it didn't happen! I guess I will be one of the ones on Christmas Eve in a frenzy!!

Thanksgiving Day

We spent Thanksgiving at my parents for the first time since we have been married. Everyone was there except for Morgan, Skylar, and Noah. Scott started bothering me a few days before about wanting to fry a turkey. So, he got all of the stuff ready and typically, instead of looking for directions/recipes on the internet, he just went to YouTube and watched a video over it!! We were all a little weary but it did turn out really good! He did have to put it back in after he cut some of the outside off! Tristyn and Blaine had a blast playing with their cousins. Blaine basically followed Gavin and Caleb around and Tristyn and Belle were in Heaven playing with all three dogs!

He needed a little help from Ashlee...heading to the pond!

Cousins....Morgan, Noah, and Skylar were in Silsbee...
Belle wanted to stay with Grandmommer so that she
and Tristyn could play!

Two days before Thanksgiving

So, I am out of school for the entire week and my kids are driving me crazy! Scott is out of town and at around 7:00 this evening, I realized that I had not had an adult conversation ALL day! I have spent my day trying to clean and do laundry while the kids continue to make messes and while Tristyn changes into 5 different outfits! Christmas is getting close and I have already called "Santa" 5 times to let him know that Tristyn and Blaine are being naughty! I am so happy that it works but what does that say about my disciplining skills?!! Oh well, I have to do what works! Anyway, to end all of this I just want to once again say how much respect I have for stay at home moms. You are the MOST patient and creative people in the world. I mean how do you keep your kids entertained?
